Choose your next steps

We are working with Project SEARCH, a leading charity that supports young people with learning disabilities and autism to move into work, to deliver a supported internship programme.

The programme is run in partnership with Runshaw College as the education provider and Lancashire County Council as the license holder.

Participants, aged 16-24 with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) or equivalent, remain enrolled at college but are based full-time for the academic year within Progress Housing Group, as the host business.

The recruitment process usually begins in January before the start of the academic year in September. Information events are usually held early in the year at Runshaw College, where parents and young people can attend an informal session to learn more about the support internship programme. For more information, please email supportedinternship@runshaw.ac.uk

Apprenticeships combine on-the-job practical training and studying. They are a great way to learn a trade while earning a wage.

We might be able to help you by:

  • Finding an apprenticeship
  • Providing apprenticeships within Progress Housing Group and sometimes within other companies
  • Helping you with applications
  • Practising interview techniques
  • Providing practical help such as temporary childcare or a contribution for transport costs while going to interviews
